Join us for a Yoga-Darshana journey: Asana/Vinyasa, Pranayama, and the roots of that amazing timeless healing system. Let us call it 3D Yoga view! Is Yoga a philosophy? A psychology? A clever workout system? Religious or not? Hindu or Buddhist? Shakti or Shiva? What do we know TODAY about all that??

A unique weeklong retreat in unique Tertsa, south Crete, hosted by Nathalie and Andreas- 2 people you must meet at least once in your life.

Everybody welcome- we are 2 senior teachers, highly experienced to cater for everyone, regardless of your current stand. Students and teachers from all backgrounds and schools are welcome to attend- it only makes the study more interesting and fruitful.  we will meet you where you are and guide you to where you want to go. Allow yourself to heal after the last 19 months, and we can help and do so gladly and lovingly- physically and mentally.

Asana/Vinyasa and Pranayama will be taught according to the principles of Anatomical Ashtanga Technique, the fruit of 50 (!) years of movement research AND 35 years of Yoga research. We will focus on the foremost Yogic text, Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, while using other "Yogic texts" as well.

We will incorporate modern and ancient movement knowledge:  Indian, Chinese and Japanese, Egyptian and European traditions. The physical work will be dynamic and precise. The theory sessions will call for an open mind, and the ability of "close-by reading"

The Asana vocabulary in the workshop will the Ashtanga sequences, from primary through the advanced 3rd. Pranayama ("expansion of Prana/life force") practice will focus on the "ashtanga pranayama" sequence, a great way to nourish the breathing body and achieve great health and healing. We will lead the workshop as a safe, lighthearted, and happy practice, while combining that breathing body with movement from the very core of the human body (the Bandhas).

This is what creates calmed special concentration, what Yoga is. This is what made Yoga special, and is the root cause of the Yoga boom to-date: We call all this "Just Yoga".

More details:

* The anatomical technique is based on what makes Yoga special, even unique:  the Pranayama, the expansion of breath. It is NOT just "breathing exercises," but the internalization of the chemical, biological, and mental dialogue of the breath mechanisms with human consciousness.

* This internalization facilitates the transition from "physical exercise with a beautiful name" to the yogic essence of practice. It is, in fact, the key to what we feel, but cannot always explain. It is the main psychological tool of the original yoga Darshana/philosophy (we will explain, we will explain) which is not exactly religious.

* as for the Asana/Vinyasa practice, The anatomical technique is meant to establish an approach that will stimulate, nourish, and maintain the body. That starts with finding our own personal core stabilization, that will enhance proper use of our bio-mechanics, promoting healing, preventing injuries, relieving pain. On the side note, it also promotes better working of our "inner works". This is what ancient Yogis experienced, this is what we need, too.

Program:

Morning session- 08:30-11:00 – Pranayama/Asana/vinyasa practice, Q&A.

Evenings:3 days during the week we will meet in the evening for Discussions, Movie screening, Yoga Philosophy fact-finding discussion, Q&A, "sharing is caring" time and some quite meditation.
